Abstract


The essay is trying to debate about aspects of the perception in relations between black and white and color film, as opposed two approaches to the art of cinema. The leitmotif of this paper is finding the fundamental nature and authenticity of the film arts through the history of the transition from black and white to color film, and with respect to the whole society determinants influencing this process. From the professional point of view essay charts the basic functions of color in the film and highlights their importance for active perception of cinematographic work.
